Thermo Orbitrap Fusion Lumos Tribrid Mass Spectrometer with a Dionex U-3000 Rapid Separation nano LC system

This instrument was installed in January 2018 and is interfaced with a tandem Dionex nano RSLC system. This instrument combines the best of quadrupole, ion trap and Orbitrap mass analysis in a revolutionary Tribrid architecture to provide unprecedented depth of analysis and ease of use. Innovative software and instrument design let you concentrate on your science rather than method development and instrument operation. In particular, Synchronous Precursor Selection (SPS) method enables simultaneous isolation of up to 20 MS2 fragment ions for HCD fragmentation and orbitrap detection. The use of SPS dramatically increases the reporter ion signal intensity and improves the ratio accuracy, leading to a significant increase in the number of quantified peptides. This instrument system is especially powerful for a broad range of qualitative and quantitative applications. The instrument typically is operated in the nanoLC-mode by facility staff.


Thermo Q Exactive HF mass spectrometer with a Dionex U-3000 Rapid Separation nano LC system

This instrument was installed in December 2014 and is interfaced with a tandem Dionex nano RSLC system. The mass spectrometer uses a quadruple for precursor ion selection with HCD fragmentation and high-resolution, Orbitrap detection. Multiplex scanning (MSX) further increases duty cycle for targeted MS/MS. This instrument system is especially powerful for a broad range of qualitative and quantitative applications. The instrument typically is operated in the nanoLC-mode by facility staff.


Thermo LTQ-Orbitrap-Velos Pro ETD mass spectrometer with a Dionex U-3000 Rapid Separation nano LC system

The LTQ-Orbitrap-Velos Pro represents the latest generation of high resolution mass spectrometers and possesses different ion fragmentation capabilities including CID, ETD, and HCD. The instrument is particularly useful for applications that require special fragmentation mechanisms, high resolution (100,000), high sensitivity, and/or rapid duty cycle. These applications include analysis of complex mixtures, post-translational modification studies (e.g., phospho-proteomics, histone code analysis), label (such as iTRAQ) and label-free quantitative proteomics experiments, and top-down analysis of intact proteins. The instrument typically is operated in the nanoLC-mode by facility staff.


ABI-MDS SCIEX 4800 MALDI-TOF/TOF mass spectrometer

The 4800 can be used to perform both MS and MS/MS experiments on a wide variety of compounds including proteins, peptides, polymers, and organic compounds. This instrument can be either operated by the facility on behalf of clients or by users themselves. Users wishing to operate the instrument directly will receive initial training by facility staff and subsequent guidance as needed. For frequent users, it is advised to join our frequent user's group for price discount.


HPLCs

LC Packings Ultimate LC equipped with a UV-VIS detector and Probot. This instrument typically is used by facility staff for LC-MALDI or for initial steps in MUDPIT experiments.

Gilson HPLC equipped with a UV/VIS detector. This system is operated either by facility staff on behalf of clients or directly by users for separation of proteins, peptides, glycans, nucleotides and other compounds of interest.
